September is Attendance Awareness Month! School attendance is important to your student's success. Be sure to encourage regular and timely attendance everyday. Being at school increases student achievement. If your student is struggling, please reach out to the school.
If your student loves to swim, we have Swim Team openings! Swim season begins September 12th for grades 4 through 8.

SMS Back to School Night will be Thursday, Sept. 8th. We will start in the air conditioned gym at 5:45 with a short Title I presentation. At 6pm you will follow your child's schedule for a short presentation in each of their classes until 7:07pm. Bring your student with you.

Back to School Dance Friday, Sept. 2, 3:30 to 5:00. Non-par will be based on one referral, suspension, or ATS. Cost is $3. Concession tickets for food and drinks will be sold at lunches this Thursday and Friday. We will not accept cash during the dance so buy tix ahead of time.

Every Monday is a late start at Standard Middle School. Gates open at 8:30am. Instruction starts at 9:10am. Buses run one hour later at the same stops. We end the day at the same time, 3:13pm.
10/24/2022 is not a late start because of Parent/Teacher Conferences minimum days.
