This is a message from Standard Middle School. This year’s eligible 8th grade students will be graduating on Wednesday, May 28th at the North High School Gym at 6:00 pm. 

Graduation Rehearsal

Students will receive their 6 graduation tickets during rehearsal the morning of graduation. Each student is only allotted 6 tickets for guests to attend. Rehearsal on May 28th is held at North High School during the school day. Students must have a permission slip turned in to attend. Rehearsal at North High will conclude at approximately 12:00 PM at which time students will be dismissed on a minimum day. Please ensure you have indicated on the permission slip how your student is getting home after rehearsal (picked up from NHS, walking home from NHS, or returning to SMS). 8th grade students who are not graduating will be on a minimum day schedule as well.

Graduation

Doors will open at 5:25 PM for early seating. Please be advised that at 5:55 PM, the entrance doors will be closed for the processional and National Anthem. They will reopen briefly at 6:15 PM for late comers. No food, beverages, horns, or balloons are allowed in the gym.

Following the ceremony, students will exit, and families may meet them in front of the gym. No students will be dismissed from inside the gym.

After the graduation, the 8th grade graduates are invited to attend a dance in the MPR at SMS. The dance is from 8-10 PM. All students must be picked up by 10 PM. Only Standard Middle graduates are invited to attend the dance.
